Welcome to day 6 of your #CreatingJoyChallenge. DRINK MORE WATER! 🙂

Did you know you are supposed to drink half your body weight in oz? Water is SO important!! It is one of the main things that keeps are bodies functioning optimally. It supports our organs to function more properly, it cleanses the yucky stuff out of our bodies, and it helps our skin to look and feel more healthy literally making you more beautiful. There are SO many reasons why drinking lots of water every day is beneficial even crucial.

So many people don’t realize how incredibly important it really is and most of us walk around partially dehydrated. I always feel so uncomfortable when I go to a restaurant and the waiter or waitress takes my drink order and gets this partially disappointed look on their face when I tell them I want water. I seriously think to myself, shouldn’t that be normal and encouraged?

Here are some tips to drinking enough water:

  • Start your day with a glass of water – This is one of the VERY FIRST things I do after waking up in the morning. Not only does it act as a great flush to your system first thing in the morning, but it also gets you thinking about water making it more of a priority in your life. I like to add a drop of pure lemon essential oil to my water for a refreshing and cleansing bonus.
  • Carry a water bottle around with you – This is very simple but can make the BIGGEST difference! Days that I carry my water bottle around with me literally empower me to drink double even triple the amount of water I would have had I not carried my water bottle around with me. Glass is ideal and bigger is better – less times you need to fill it up throughout the day.
  • Sharpie the side of your water bottle – If you don’t worry about ruining your water bottle, you can try marking the side of your water bottle with increments of when you want to finish your water. My water bottle isn’t big enough so I usually just calculate by how many bottles I’ve completed by lunchtime and dinnertime.
  • Add flavor to your water – If you don’t love the taste of water, try adding some fresh fruit veggies or pure essential oils to your water to help you enjoy it more.
